MI beat PWI by 21 runs

The Pune Warriors learnt the lesson in a hard way as they managed 139/7, 21 runs short of the target on Wednesday. Mumbai Indians handed Pune with their seventh successive loss in the IPL. The Warriors are now at bottom most with 4 points from 9 matches, while MI top the table with 14 from 9. Harbhajan (1/17) and Munaf (1/30) initiated the game in their opening spells. Harbhajan swiped Jesse Ryder for a first ball duck and Munaf got Graeme Smith for 6. Munaf bowled with two slips. New man Abhishek Jhunjhunwala (10) looked uncomfortable, but Manish Pandey (59) managed to hit a couple of boundaries.

Pollard, who replaced Harbhajan, kept the pressure on Jhunjhunwala, to up the scoring rate and was lapped up by keeper Ambati Rayudu. Warriors bowler Alfonso Thomas was butchered by Kieron Pollard (30) and Harbhajan Singh (8). Thomas, gave away 27 runs in his last over.
